SB varsity begins online classes for students
KALABURAGI, Sharnbasva University became the first university in the entire North Karnataka to conduct classes to the students online with the help of live streaming from Monday, claimed University Registrar Anil Kumar Bidve.
The classes were suspended three weeks ago as per the instructions of the State government to prevent the spread of dreaded Covid-19.
Bidve said the classes were conducted on a trial basis by about 200 teaching staff to as many as 1,800 students through live streaming and the exercise by the teachers was a success. Uninterrupted teaching sessions were conducted much to the delight of the student community. The response from the students was encouraging. Online live streaming of the classes started at all departments of the varsity on Monday.
Congratulating the teaching staff for taking up teaching activities through online classes, University Chancellor Sharnbaswappa Appa said this will go a long way in continuing the academic activities of the university. Sharnabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Chairperson Dakshayini Appa, Secretary Basavaraj Deshmukh and Vice-Chancellor Niranjan Nisty congratulated the teaching staff.
