Quarantine centers in villages face water problem

Bidar, dhns: Various quarantine centres established in the district to accommodate migrant workers who return to the district from other States have been facing scarcity of water.

Most of the government primary schools in the villages were turned into quarantine centres and the borewells in these schools dried in summer. Therefore, water should be supplied to them in tankers.

Some schools lack bathrooms and the women quarantinees face difficulties. They have toilets but sufficient water is not available.

Moreover, the increasing temperature is also adding to the woes.

Many people could be seen sitting under the trees in the school compound to beat the heat.

The classrooms lack fans. But they have to stay in the quarantine centres as per the Covid-19 guidelines.
