Online classroom for CUK students to offset academic loss

KALABURAGI, Faculty members of Central University of Karnataka (CUK) has undertaken a massive academic teaching and assessment programme due to early closure of classroom teaching owing to Covid-19 scare.

Each school of the varsity has made direct online classroom link with students for forwarding e-content, study material, video clips, and power point presentation and others.

Internal assessment is carried through online tests and viva, quiz and others. The CUK is already at the top in enrollment of students in the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) online programmes of the Ministry of Human Resources Development. The faculty members of the CUK has developed e-contents of topics based on the leftover syllabus to help the students and keep them in learning mode even though they are at their home. 

The CUK authorities are working on conducting online semester examinations for final year students. The deans and teachers are trying to overcome the academic loss due to the spread of Covid-19 virus. Teachers have created WhatsApp groups and Google classroom accounts for submission of assignments and digital interaction.
