Covid cases rise to 185 in K’buragi 16 fresh cases in Yadgir, tally breaches 150 mark
With Kalaburagi continuing to witness a sharp spike in Covid-19 positive cases, the tally has reached 185 on Wednesday.
Totally 28 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported on Wednesday. They had returned from Maharashtra and quarantined at government institutions. They belong to Kamalapur, Jevargi, Yadrami, Aland, Sedam and Chittapur taluks.
Out of total 185 positive cases, 75 had recovered and discharged from the hospital. Seven died while 103 are undergoing treatment at the Covid hospital.
Two 80-year-old Covid-19 positive persons recovered and discharged from the hospital on Wednesday. The 80-year-old woman P-983 of Saraf Bazar in Kalaburagi and 80-year-old P-1039 of Alagi (B) village in Afzalpur taluk were recovered from the disease.
In Yadgir
The 16 people quarantined in various centres in the district tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday taking the tally to 156. This also includes the report of a woman who died on May 20.
A 69-year-old woman (P-2301) of Arakera K village in Yadgir taluk had died on May 20. The throat swab of the woman was sent for Covid tests and it returned positive. She had returned from Mumbai to the district.
Other cases reported are from Shahapur, Gurmatkal, Yadgir and Surpur taluks. They had returned from Mumbai, Umra, Kouse, Navi Mumbai, Ghat Koper of Maharashtra and quarantined in the government quarantine centres.
In Raichur
Five fesh Covid-19 cases were reported from Raichur district on Wednesday taking the total number of cases to 71.
All the five had returned from Maharashtra and staying in quarantine centres. The infected include three girls and two men. They have been admitted to the Opec hospital. The primary and secondary contacts of the infected were also in the quarantine centres and their health condition is being monitored.
Out of total 71 Covid-19 positive cases in the district, 50 are from Deodurga taluk, 17 are from Raichur taluk and 4 are from Lingasgur taluk.
13 test positive in Bidar dist
Thirteen people, including three women were tested positive for Covid-19 in Bidar district on Wednesday. The total number of cases stood at 108.
Of the 13 positive cases 12 have returned from Maharastra. Two are pregnant women. They were home quarantined and therefore, the swab samples of their family members were also collected.
