Police Commissioner N Satish Kumar said a total of 4615 vehicles have been seized in the City

A total of 5,627 vehicles have been seized in the district after the lockdown till April 30 in the district. Out of them, more vehicles have been impounded in the City.

Police Commissioner N Satish Kumar said, a total of 4615 vehicles have been seized in the City. Of which, as many as 2500 vehicles have been returned to the owners. About 2115 vehicles are with the police department, he explained.

Seized vehicles have been parked at the DAR ground of the City and the police and fire tender staff have been deployed to guard them.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Iada Martin Marbaniang said a total of 1012 vehicles have been seized in various parts of the district. Till Thursday, about 610 vehicles have been returned. As many as 402 vehicles are still in various police stations. Seized vehicles included cars, autorickshaws, motorbikes and scooters, he explained.
