Food, ration to Ashraya colonies demanded  

KALABURAGI, Bandh-like situation has created in the City for a month due to the Covid-19 scare. The people living in slums and daily wagers are struggling for a meal.

Food, ration and safety equipment should be supplied to the required places to the required locations, appealed Kalaburagi Urban Development Authority former chairman Mohammed Asgar Chulbul.

All business establishments downed shutters in the district, rendering daily wagers jobless.


The poor laborers are unable to get food at the lowest price. Thousands of people are living in Sonia Gandhi, S M Krishna, Jafarabad, Dr. Ambedkar and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ashraya Colonies.

They should be provided sanitizers and masks along with food, he said.

Handbills and posters to create awareness among the public about Covid-19 should be printed in Kannada, English and Urdu languages. Masks and hand gloves should be proved free to the civic workers and the office-bearers of the various association, he appealed.
