Coronavirus Pandemic LIVE Updates: The death toll in India among coronavirus-positive patients today rose to nine, after a Tibetan died in a hospital in Himachal Pradesh. “A 69-year-old Tibetan refugee, who died at a hospital in Tanda in Himachal Pradesh earlier today, has been tested positive for coronavirus. He returned from the US on March 15,” said State Additional Chief Secretary (Health) RD Dhiman. Before that, the eighth death in the country was reported from West Bengal.
The Delhi Police today said they will seal all thee inter-state borders to prevent the movement of people from neighbouring states in order to curb the spread of coronavirus. “To ensure the proper implementation of Section 144 in Delhi, inter-state borders shall be completely sealed by police, except for the movement of essential goods and commodities,” said Delhi Police PRO MS Randhawa. “For movement of persons involved in essential goods and services, the concerned Delhi-based organisations have to get curfew passes from their respective district police headquarters.”
