Keep strict vigil on people entering Raichur dist: DC
Raichur, Deputy Commissioner R Venkatesh Kumar has said, after the lockdown norms have been relaxed in the green zones, it has become necessary to keep a strict vigil on the people entering the district from other districts and States.
Speaking to taluk-level officials during a video conference held at his office in the City on Tuesday, he directed the taluk administrations to collect the details of all those who are entering the district from other States and they have to kept in quarantine.
A large number of migrant workers are returning from Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Ajmir, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. All of them should be kept under institutional quarantine for 14 days without fail, he directed.
A sample collection centre has been set up near Gillesuguru in the district, where samples of every person in the families of labourers should be collected, he said and asked the officials to collect samples of people entering from Maharashtra at Lingasguru and Thintani bridges. In the last four days, thousands of people have entered the district through 1,500 buses. Every day, 200 samples should be collected from the people who are in quarantine, he said.
He asked tahsildars to appoint nodal officials to maintain cleanliness across the district, as there are possibilities of malaria, dengue, chikungunya, and other microbial diseases with the beginning of the rainy season in the coming days.
