Officials face difficulty in getting drinking water at check posts
Bidar, The Health Department staff and police personnel deployed at the check posts in the borders of Bidar district have been facing difficulties in getting sufficient drinking water and food.
The Karnataka police and Telangana police have set up check posts on the national highway at Bhangur village in Bidar taluk. The health officials have been checking the health condition of the people while the police have been monitoring the movement of vehicles. Tents have been erected near the check post for the temporary stay of the police. But they have not been getting clean drinking water and food every day, the sources informed.
The Telangana police and health personnel have been receiving food and water from their administration. But the personnel of Bidar district have been arranging the water and food themselves, they said.
Jahirabad MLA K Manikrao paid a visit to the check post and instilled confidence among the personnel recently. He also instructed the taluk administration to ensure the facilities for the personnel working in the check posts.
Meanwhile, the health staff and police working in the borders of the State said, tent was not erected at the check post on Bidar-Jahirabad Road till March 24. Water was also not ensured. Seating arrangement was also not made. After the State government announced the lockdown, a tent was erected near Shapapur Gate, the sources said.
Tents were erected at the check posts at Kamalnagar and in the border of Aurad taluk.
Deputy Commissioner H R Mahadeva said, a meeting of health and police officials was called and instructed to arrange water and temporary shelter at the check posts. The district administration would bear all the expenses. If the officials neglected the instructions, action would be initiated against them, he said.
