‘Random test of Covid in Mominpura area
As more number of Covid-19 positive cases are reporting from Mominpura area of the City, the district administration has planned to carry out random test of Covid-19 in the area. It has also proposed to subject about 4,000 people to Covid-19 test.
Speaking at a joint press meet here on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner B Sharat and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer P Raja said, ward No-23, 24, and 25 of the area has about 20,000 population.
A total of 50 teams consisting of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff and Asha workers will undertake health check-up in the area. Priority will be accorded to elderly people, pregnant women and those are suffering from comorbidities during the random test. One each team will visit 25 houses a day, they explained.
The DC said, another Shramik train ferrying about 1200 migrant workers from Maharashtra has arrived to Kalaburagi on Thursday. They will be sent to institutional quarantine after thermal screening. Quarantine centres has been set up at various hostels in the district. They are being managed in coordination with Revenue, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and Police Departments, he told.
40 check-posts
A total of 40 check-posts have been set up in the district. The migrants returning from other states are being allowed into the district after medical check-up at the border check-posts at Khajuri, Hirolli, Kinni Sadak, Balurgi, Ribbanpalli and Miriyana which shared border with other states.
Testing capacity in virology laboratory has been increased to 800 now. Three machines have been installed in the laboratory with the staff working in three shifts, the DC explained. A total of 119 cases have been booked so far against the lockdown violators in the district and a total of 7,227 vehicles have been seized, Sharat said.
