Seal down to continue till May 14
The district administration has decided to continue the seal down of certain areas in the City.
The number of Covid-19 positive cases reported from Old City area is high and therefore, the seal down should be continued to check the spread of the disease to other areas, the officials said.
Every day, the throat swab samples of 1,000 people would be collected for testing. Permission was also obtained from the State government in this regard, said Deputy Commissioner H R Mahadeva. The residents at selected areas of Old City would be subjected to the medical tests. The process was started from Friday, he said.
Health & Family Welfare Department officials were instructed to conduct health check-up of the people at Maniyar Taleem, Golekhan, Ahmad Bag, Patalnagar, and Dulhan Darwaza. All these areas were sealed down till May 14, he said.
Bidar Assistant Commissioner Akshay Shridhar said, the residents in these localities have been instructed not to come out on the streets. Cases would be filed against the persons who violate the lockdown orders. Some people have been trying to come out in the open places during the evening hours. Some youths have been still wandering on the streets neglecting the oders. Therefore, strict police vigil would be maintained in these localities for another one week.
Restrictions were not imposed on the sale of groceries, vegetables and medicines. Horticulture Department vehicles have been selling vegetables in these localities too, he informed.
