KALABURAGI, Home Department has issued an order directing DIG (KSRP) N Satish Kumar to work as commissioner of Kalaburagi city on officer on duty (OOD) basis as M N Nagaraj who was serving as police commissioner took voluntary retirement on health grounds.

The additional director general of police (KSRP) has been directed to relieve Satish Kumar of his duty as he has to report at the new assignment immediately. The new commissioner is likely to assume office Today Morning at 11-00. Satish Kumar, a 2003-batch IPS officer, has worked as superintendent of police of Bidar and deputy commissioner of police in Bengaluru. As Nagaraj who served as the first police commissioner after the police commissionerate was made functional, was suffering from backache, he applied for voluntary retirement from the service. The Home Department approved his plea and hence he retired from the service on March 31.
