Rain lashes part of Kalyana Karnataka, one killed
Heavy rains lashed Kalaburagi, Bidar and Yadgir and Ballari districts of Kalyana Karnataka region for more than one hour on Friday. The rains brought respite to the residents of Kalaburagi city from the sweltering heat.
Chincholi and Kalagi of Kalaburagi district, Chitaguppa, Humnabad, Aurad, Kamalanagar and Basavakalyana taluks of Bidar district received good rains. Police constables Imamsab Dondati and Siddaram Patil deployed at check posts set up at Revoor (B) village of Afzalpur taluk and Dudhani area of Maharashtra, sustained injuries after the check posts collapsed in the rains.The check posts set up at Chandikapura of Basavakalyana and Kattitogaon in Bhalki taluk came crashing down due to the heavy winds.
A 55-year-old woman was struck dead by lightning at Katagal Doddi village near Hatti Goldfield of Raichur district on Thursday night. Three goats were killed after lightning struck them in Kakalawar village in Yadgir district.
Rain, accompanied by strong wind and thunder, lashed Ballari City for more than two hours on Friday evening. The rain started at 6:30 pm and continued for two hours.
