Kalaburagi, Admirers of Jewargi taluk’s Nelogi Police Station Police Sub Inspector Mallanna Yalagod performed milk abhisheka on the PSI on June 14 on the occasion of his birthday. A video of performing milk Abhisheka went viral on social media.
The video showed his admirers brought milk in a pot and performed Abhiksha on him. The incident received flak as the police officer was celebrated his birthday himself violating social distancing norms and without wearing masks.Mallanna Yalagod said, the family members had arrived from Kembavi in Yadgir district. While celebrating his birthday in a simple manner at home, milk was thrown on him. Only family members were present, he claimed.
Superintendent of Police Iada Martin Marbaniang told that he has seen the video and a notice will be served to the PSI. Based on his reply, action will be taken against him, he said.
