Kalaburagi, Bidar, Raichur and Yadgir districts of Kalyana Karnataka region received good rains on Tuesday. Chittapur, Sedam, Chincholi, Kalagi, Aland, and Afzalpur taluks in Kalaburagi district received good showers.
While Karadal village in Chittapur taluk recorded the highest rainfall of 72 mm, temperature which was hovering between 43-44 degree Celsius has dipped to 33 degrees on Tuesday.
Several roads including the national highway located in the middle of Raichur City were inundated due to heavy rains.
Vehicular movement was disrupted for few hours as Ashapur cross on Hagari-Jadacharla National Highway (No-167) was under rainwater. Shaktinagar and Devasugur hobli too received good rains. Shahapur, Surpur, Yaragol, and Saidapur in Yadgir district also received moderate to heavy rains.
Two die of lightning strike
Two persons were struck dead by lightning in Bidar and Chitaguppa on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Beerappa (50), a resident of Solapur village in Bidar taluk and Nijamuddin Najamoddin (45), who was standing at Pennamalla Chowk in Chitaguppa.
Wajeed Bandelisab and Sanjeev Kumar who were injured during the lightning are undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
