Disinfectant tunnel set up at DAR ground to keep Covid-19 at bay
KALABURAGI, Keeping the health of the family members of police constables and officials in mind, a sodium hypochlorite disinfectant tunnel has been set up at the entrance of DAR police quarters here.
Superintendent of Police Iada Martin Marbaniang inaugurated the tunnel by passing through it on Tuesday.
An official said the police are working round the clock to prevent the public gathering
and check the vehicular movement. They are likely to infect with the deadly virus while checking the vehicles and the passes on the border as well as in the city. They may infect Covid-19 to their family members when they return to their homes. Hence the disinfectant tunnel has been set up here, he explained.
A person or an object becomes disinfected if he/she passes through the tunnel. Motorbikes or bicycle used by the police can also be riding through it. The family members of the police while going out or coming in along with the essential commodities should pass through the tunnel to keep the virus at bay. Those who pass through the tunnel gets spray mixed with sodium hypochlorite and water.
A 500-litre capacity water tank has temporarily been constructed for this purpose. Thermal screening has also been made mandatory at the entrance. Jeep, motorbikes and residential complex are being sanitised.
