1,348 people arrive at Vijaypur in Shramik train
Deputy Commissioner Y S Patil has informed that 1,348 travellers have arrived in the City on Friday from Maharashtra by the Sindhadurga ‘Shramik‘ train.
The district administration had made extensive arrangements at the City Railway Station to transport the people to their respective destinations in the district.
He said that the travellers were sent to 12 taluks of the district by 41 buses. He added that the travellers who had to stay in the City were also given local transport facility. All the travellers were provided breakfast packets, drinking water and biscuits, he said.
He informed that all those who have arrived will be compulsorily subjected to thermal screening at the respective taluk places and will be quarantined as a precautionary measure.
Giving details of the people who have come to the district from other States, he said that till date 8,157 migrant workers have come to the district and 2,627 workers have left the district for other States. As many as 26,773 people have come to the district from other districts. All those who have come to the district are quarantined, he said.
He said that 902 persons have completed 28 days home quarantine and 1,304 are in the reporting stage of 1-28 days. Till Friday as many as 52 have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, he said adding that three of them have died and 36 are discharged from the hospital on being cured.
There are only 13 active Covid-19 cases that are being treated at the designated hospital and all are responding well to the medical treatments, he claimed.
Till date, the throat swab samples of 2,687 are sent for testing and 2,594 have tested negative, he informed adding that the reports of 41 persons are awaited.
